Welcome to my online portfolio. My IMDb entry is so hopelessly incorrect, despite repeated requests to change it, that I decided to create my own website.

I have been a director for more than thirty years and on this site, as well as a Biography. and Filmography, you can see clips from a variety of the projects I’ve directed during that time. My work is represented in 3 sections - Film, Television and Commercial.

Born 13th November 1946 in a music - hall joke called Clitheroe, in Lancashire.

In 1968 I left Durham University with a degree in Psychology and Modern Philosophy and joined the BBC, where I stayed until 1979 making documentaries for most notably Omnibus and Arena.

Since then I have been working consistently on projects such as "Minder", "The Professionals", "Who Dares Wins", "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", "GoldenEye" and more recently in film dramas such as "Tess of the D'Ubervilles".

Filling in all the while I have made commercials and short films all over the world on a freelance basis since 1992 to the present day.
